F.X Cosmetics - Halal makeup Review

I only just recently  found out that many chemicals in some makeup products are made using animal sources! Astaghfirullah, names to look out for are collagen, hyaluronic acid, oleric acid, plamitic acid, stearic acid/stearyl alcohol, sodium lauryl, glycerine/glycerol, carmine (CI 75470). These ingredients may have originated from animals, so please watch out for them in your makeup products.

This realisation prompted me to look into halal makeup which has recently emerged in the makeup market. Halal makeup is free from alcohol, animal testing, and uses natural mineral ingredients.

F.X Cosmetics (Fusciaxtreme), are a Yorkshire based (yayy for Yorksire!) business that deal in just such makeup,a halal, eco-friendly makeup range that consists of mineral products. Mineral makeup is made from natural minerals such as titanium dioxide, zinc oxide and iron oxides from the Earth, and these ingredients are said to be good for your skin, especially sensitive skin as they have anti-inflammatory properties.

I’ve always wanted to try mineral makeup, as my skin is really sensitive, but never got round to  it. Cue FX Cosmetics.

Firstly I have to say that dealing with FX Cosmetics was a delight! MashaAllah the sister who I was in contact with was so so helpful and gave such prompt replies to emails. Alhamdulillah, keeping this customer service up will inshaAllah bring so much more success to their business! The delivery was oh so fast, it was as though I made my payment and the package just appeared in front of me!

The products come wrapped in pink tissue paper, kept safe inside a sleek FX shopping bag. I love the choice of colours for the logo, very pristine and eye-catching. Very Mac-like.

I really wanted to try mineral foundation, but I was abit sceptical with buying a shade online without testing it. If you drop them an email, F.X cosmetics provides you the option of ordering sampling pots of the F.X Mineral Puff Foundation! Now because I ordered the sample pots, they did not come in the normal size pot which comes with the mineral puff applicator, so I tested it out using a brush. To apply, you simply swirl your kabuki brush in a little of the powder, tap off the excess and apply to your skin in circular motions. The more you buff into your skin, the more it will be soaked up by the moisture in your skin, leaving you with an all-day stay put foundation.

Wow, I have to say, so much better than what I was expecting! You cant even tell you're applying anything to your face as its odourless and it feels as though a few bits of powder can't do much. But boy was I mistaken! Within seconds, it covers your face, and provides coverage that I didn't think was possible.

I really like how the foundation feels on my skin. It's so light, and silky to touch, my skin feels so soft, and unlike some liquid foundations, didn’t leave my skin feeling shiny. I would recommend to use this foundation as a day foundation, as it gives a more natural flawless look. I am going to have to order the real size pot now!

Now this next product I LOVE. The F.X Mineral Puff Blusher, in "Rose Petal".

This super stylish pot comes with a mirror on top, and the signature mineral puff applicator!

 When using for the first time, tap the applicator  on the back of your hand to release the powder, and then gently sweep across cheeks. Instantly, my cheeks had a light natural glow to them , which is exactly what I wanted, natural. Absolutely perfect blusher for me, I cant even tell I have it on as it's so light. But most importantly, Alhamdulillah, no reactions with my skin as most blushers do! Seriously recommend everyone to buy this product. The applicator is so cute, and makes it so easy to apply and carry around.

F.X Cosmetic’s shimmer powder, colour rich eyeshadows, are exactly what they say on the pot, colour rich. I found it much easier to take the plastic sifter off and dip my brush (or finger) directly into the powder for a more intense colour.

Below are F.X Shimmer Powders in "Dazzling Gold", "Silver" and "Midnight". Midnight is my favourite of the three, the colour is so intense, and you need the tiniest amount on your eyelid, so this pot will last almost forever!

On the colour patch above you can also see F.X Cosmetics Eye Liner in black. I love love this product. Its really hard for me to find a liner that doesn’t smudge throughout the day. (I wear it on my lower lid, so it runs even easier).This one is fab. The colour is as intense without having to apply any  pressure, and it doesn’t run AT all! This has replaced my normal black pencil for sure!

For my lips I ordered F.X Cosmetics, Line 'n' lacquer lip gloss and lip liner duo in one, in "Crystal Pink". The bottle is so cute and sleek, and there's a liner hidden away at the top of it! So no need to carry around a separate liner and gloss.

Having seen the quality of these products mashaAllah, and the all important halal aspect of them, I want to try out the rest of the line! I love love the mineral puff foundation and the mineral buff blusher.The superb customer service tops off the company, and I'm sure I am going to be going back for more!
